A brief trip to England

Vi reiste til flyplassen nok en gang. Det var kun en uke siden vi var ute å fløy sist, og denne gangen ble det en snartur til Lake District i England. Turen ble bråbestemt pga sykdom i familien. Selv om utgangspunktet for turen ikke var særlig lovende hadde vi det meget hyggelig sammen med Molly and Keith. Helen (Nigel's søster) kom opp fra Manchester for helgen også.

Vi opplevde alle varianter av vær de dagene vi var der; Fra flott høstvær med solskinn til regn og kuling. Grønt var det fremdeles, men noe løv var begynt å falle fra trærne. Det var en rød-brun farge som skinte fra fjellene. Vakkert.

Vi fikk selvsagt med oss alt det obligatoriske; Masse deilig bacon, cumberland sausage fra den lokale kjøttbutikken - se bilde, det gode lokale øl fra Jennings bryggeriet fra Cockermouth. Rønnaug fikk også besøkt frisøren. Både billigere og bedre enn Norge, og den amerikanske frisøren vi har her i Doha.

Just a week after landing at the Doha airport, returning from Jordan, we were there again. This time is was a hastily arranged long weekend to England to see Nigel's parents. The night flights are never much fun, and as it seemed that half of the passengers were crying and screaming children between 2 weeks (the one right behind us) and two years (on the other side of the aisle), the 7 hour flight seemed a lot longer.

The weather was typical for the Lake District in the autumn, one super clear sunny day, and two with varying amounts of rain. Apart from the importance of the family get-together, we managed other such essentials as eating lots of pork products and getting a pint of the locally brewed Jennings Bitter.
